Thanks for visiting. Unfortunately, I too do not believe that JWs are christians. One reason is that we believe in two different Jesus's. My Jesus is God. Your one is not. Please see http://realchristianity.wordpress.com/2007/12/04/is-jesus-god/

Dear Alan,

I was browsing the internet the other day, when i came accross your website. What jumped out at me was your comment ' 1. "True Christianity must line up with the Bible." As Jehovah's witnesses we too recognise the Bible as the supreme authority in a Christians life. Everything a Christian needs to know is Found in Scripture (2 Tim.3:16,17) and we are not authorised to add to,or take anything away. (Gal.1:8,9; Rev.22:18,19) We wouldn't dare.
Like Jesus we expect to be hated, and we are often spoken against, (John 15:18; Acts 28:22) some even claim that we are not true Christains, and that we don't believe in Jesus, yet we fully endorse what Peter said regarding Jesus Christ: "there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved."- Acts 4:12. So where that idea comes from is anyones guess.
What do you think ?
Thanks for listening.

Oh, pardon me, I'm new to this site, and because it simply says 'by Alan Higgins' under the heading of this posting, I assumed that you were the author and had also posted the same article at the destination of the link beneath! Perhaps 'posted by Alan Higgins' would be more precise?!

Anyhow I have to say, this article does greatly trouble me, it's like the author has grasped a few fundamental Christian truths and peppered them with erroneous thoughts from his own mind, certainly not Spirit-led ones.

His name is Richard Hole, and looking through his websites I am even more troubled. Here is a quote from his own self-penned autobiography; (http://www.advantagein.com/autobiography/)

---"Some of my Christian friends and I are yet to meet anyone that can produce evidence that God answers prayer or supernaturally guides and helps in the ways asked of in my questions on the website....If we associated with such people, it would help us find or walk with God so that we can do His ministry more efficiently. Then we would be more easily able to encourage people to walk with God and form Christian groups. If you know the contacts of any committed Christians or Christian groups who could help in ways described please let me know.
My concern is that God is not obviously helping those that we know as explained above. Instead our lives consist of chaos and relentless frustrating problems without an obvious positive purpose. I feel that God is angry with myself and other people that I know because what God promises the righteous is not occurring in our lives. I know that we should not blame God and that it is the devils fault or our fault. However, I find it hard to be righteous and as a result I often feel angry with God and feel that He does not love me or the others that I know. This is especially so when things go wrong. I feel that I need some people who are obviously led and helped by God for fellowship so that they can pray for me. This would hopefully help me overcome psychological problems and find a close relationship with God."---

My view is that this is a very clever guy who has recognised the sovereignity and power of Jesus Christ and sincerely wants to fulfill his potential in the Lord but is trying to use human abilities to achieve this and seeking God in entirely the wrong way! The Tower of Babel springs to mind, man trying to reach God through his own works rather than allowing God to bridge the gap in His grace which is what was achieved by Jesus on the cross.

If you substitute the word 'christianity' in the article above for the name of any cult or religion, and replace references to the bible and Jesus with the names of the relevant holy book and prophet, the article would seem just as compelling to the followers of whatever religion or cult had been substituted, and that is because it promotes elitism. A key ingredient in the mix of most religions and cults, but certainly never practised by Jesus and the apostles!

I wholeheartedly agree that there is much false doctrine and mis-leading in the mainstream church today and fully support the raising of awareness of it. But being in opposition to the apostate church does not automatically make anybody an approved and well-informed teacher! Studying the word of God and seeking and receiving His guidance and revelation of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit is the only way to the truth, and sadly I do not see signs that Richard Hole has fully realised this yet.

Remember I copied this from another website. I think the point the person was tring to get across was that our righteousness is as filthy rags. I hope that clarifies things a bit but I do understand your concern

You are referring to the verse 'all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God' then yes?

You say 'True Christianity will testify that almost everything that almost everyone does is evil.'

I don't understand the terms 'almost' in your post in light of the above verse. Are you saying that sometimes we are sinners, and sometimes we are not??

Thanks.

In a nutshell, evil is sin and sin is the breaking of God's laws which we all do

Anon Westboro Baptist Church is not a good representation of Christianity and I apologise. The Phelps are the worst typr of 'advert' for christianity and by their behaviour, I dont even believe they are christians as true christians would not do the things that they do ie picket at dead soldiers funerals. They make the scriptures say something that it des not and twist it to suit themselves. That is the characteristic of "most terorist groups, cults, suicide sects and so on"

But what I would ask you is if your friend punched me and I said that I hate you, that would not be fair would it? In the same way, do not judge christianity or more importantly Jesus Christ on the basis or the actions of his followers or presumed followers.
