“If you are a Christian, God is not punishing you when you suffer. Jesus died for you, so your punishment has been paid. You will suffer because of your sin, sin of someone else, or consequence of the Fall. But, God is not punishing you. So, run to Him & not from Him” – Mark Driscoll.

Thought for the day – The Comfort of the Fire Truck

The Comfort of the Fire Truck Perhaps you don’t have an “out-going” personality. Perhaps you are shy, and you like to keep to yourself. A firefighter may have the type of personality that likes to stay alone in the comfort of a fire truck and read books, but if he wants to do what he knows he should, he must change that attitude. So, step out of the truck. Make an effort today to greet at least two complete strangers. When you walk into the grocery store, the gas station, school, or work, practice being friendly with people you don’t know. Make yourself say, “Hi. How are you doing?” Try it and you will see that it really isn’t difficult at all. Then be bold. Offer them a Gospel tract, and run if you must. Better to give it and run than not give it at all. Thought for the Day – Happy New Year?

I received an email yesterday with a sobering thought:

How many times have you wished someone a Happy New Year? Yet for many this year will be the time they go out into eternity to face the Holy God as their judge and will end up in hell. Every day 150,000 people die and most of them have never heard the gospel. May the Lord open our eyes and our heart and may we continue to strive to take the gospel to as many as we possible can.

Thought for the Day – Witnessing to Moslems

Taken from The Way of the Master Minute  Witnessing to Moslems If you witness to a Moslem, realize that he will almost certainly acknowledge his sins, but will trust in God to forgive him because he says that he is sorry, and won’t sin again. So, before you open up the Law, tell him the story about a criminal who has committed a very serious crime. He says, “Judge, I am guilty, but I’m sorry and I won’t do it again.” Make sure that the Moslem agrees that if the judge is good, he must punish the criminal. He would be a bad judge if he didn’t make sure justice was done. He cannot simply let him go. Then take the Moslem through the Law, and when he tries to justify himself by saying that he simply asks God to forgive him, remind him of the story you told him about the good judge, and point out that God is infinitely harsher. Thought For The Day – The Salt of the Earth

Taken from The Way of the Master Minute The Salt of the Earth Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.”( Matthew 5:13) Salt cleanses; it preserves; it brings out taste. If you want to cleanse a stain from a cup, use salt. If you want to preserve meat from rotting, use salt. If you want to bring out the flavor of food, use salt. It has many properties, but the one common denominator is that it must come into contact with something to do its work. It needs to be scattered out of the saltshaker. If we don’t shake ourselves into reaching the lost, God may shake us. Remember, He allowed Saul of Tarsus to scatter the early Church. We are told that they were “scattered abroad, and went everywhere preaching the word.”(Acts 8:4) There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time. Thought For The Day – Whoever is Fearful

Taken from The Way of the Master Minute Whoever is Fearful When God spoke to Gideon regarding the size of his army, He said, “Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.’”(Judges 7:3) God wants those who have overcome fear by being dead to themselves. He wants soldiers that have been crucified with Christ. George Mueller said, “There was a day when I died, utterly died, died to George Mueller, his opinions, preferences, tastes, and will-died to the world, its approval or censure-died to the approval or blame even of my brethren and friends-and since then I have only to show myself approved to God.” The way to see if you are dead is to see how you react when God wants you to witness to an unsaved person.
