There is no doubt that numerology is in the bible. As per

Biblical numerology is the study of numbers in the Bible. Two of the most commonly repeated numbers in the Bible are 7 and 40. The number 7 signifies completion or perfection (Genesis 7:2-4; Revelation 1:20). It is often called “God’s number” since He is the only One who is perfect and complete (Revelation 4:5; 5:1, 5-6). The number 3 is also thought to be the number of divine perfection: The Trinity consists of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The number 40 is often understood as the “number of probation or trial.” For example: the Israelites wandered for 40 years (Deuteronomy 8:2-5); Moses was on the mount for 40 days (Exodus 24:18); 40 days were involved in the story of Jonah and Nineveh (Jonah 3:4); Jesus was tempted for 40 days (Matthew 4:2); there were 40 days between Jesus’ resurrection and ascension (Acts 1:3). Another number repeated in the Bible is 4, which is the number of creation: North, South, East, West; four seasons. The number 6 is thought to be the number of man: Man was created on the 6th day; man labors 6 days only. Another example of the Bible using a number to signify something is the number 666, the number of the Antichrist in Revelation chapter 13.

Whether or not the numbers really do have a significance is still debated in many circles. The Bible definitely seems to use numbers in patterns or to teach a spiritual truth.

BUT what is NOT seen in the bible is what we see in this video.

Where numbers are used in order to manipulate people into giving money. In fact I would be grateful if someone can show me ANYWHERE in the new testament where the apostles used numbers in any way close to what we see here.

In fact, this kind of numerology is more linked to the occult than Christianity where you are basically saying that if you give X amount (where X is the special number), then you this good thing will happen to you and your purpose is somehow wrapped up or linked to that number. What foolishness!!! When you start operating in this, you have definitely crossed the line. Just type numerology in Google and see what occultic stuff it comes up with.

I have heard quite a few preachers who abuse numerology to fleece the flock or to deceive them in one way or another. For example, when it comes to July, they say because it is the 7th month, things are going to be perfected, or whenever 7 appears in anything they use it as a ‘perfection’ prophecy. This is the same with other numbers also. I’m sure because we are in 2007, there were many perfection prophecies going on this year meaning that every believer will have things ‘perfected’…….NOT.

Here is another example of someone cramming their numerology doctrine into scripture to make it say what they want it to say

I will leave you with a quote from the same website I mentioned above

……many people put too much significance on “Biblical numerology,” trying to find a special meaning behind every number in the Bible. Often a number in the Bible is simply a number. God does not call us to search for secret meanings, hidden messages, and codes in the Bible. There is more than enough truth in the words and meanings of Scripture to meet all our needs and make us “complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16).

Remember to pray for these teachers.

  1. Leonard Simek says:

Money is the root of all evil. God wants your obedience, money is humanities way of manipulating the masses. If your really courageous for the Lord give of your life without reimbursement. Everyone knows a real fake when they see it and money is at the head of all deception.

    • Rebecca says:

Money is not the root of all evil but the “love of money”

      1 Tim 6:9-10
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
For “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil”, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

This passage describes how we are to give ~ it is how we purpose in our heart … not as someone tells you how much to give….
      2 Cor 9:6-9
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

I just found last week and found it to be very helpful, so I’m glad to see you like it, as well.

Pretty sure it was in WorldNetDaily where there’s an article in which Benny Hinns’ son and another fellow who left the organization said B.Hinn was miocking the fact that he took an elderly lady’s last five dollars… Isn’t the fact that some of these live in mansions and drive extremely expensive cars a clue?

Appreciate the way you remind us to pray for these teachers.

    God’s Blessings.

Do you realize this wasn’t teaching, but a long offering appeal? Did the little bishop share anything that wasn’t related to the people’s pocket or pocketbook?

  5. SNYDER says:

lord God=[67 Jesus], lamb of God =[67 Jesus] lion of Judah =[67 Jesus], his son=[67 Jesus ] my name is the lord=[138 Jesus Christ] their holy one=[138] holiest of holies =[138] etc.
