“People who don’t want scrutiny, people who don’t want to be held accountable for what they teach or what they believe, people who don’t want to be told they’re wrong, they always throw that verse ‘Judge not lest you be judged!’”

John MacArthur is the man. Some of my friends were actually talking today about the blurred distinction between final judgment and voicing accountability. There is a huge difference that needs to be recognized. I’ll definitely share this with them and others. Thanks, Alan. Keep up the good work!

  2. Douglas K. Adu-Boahen says:

Dr. MacArthur hits another home run with that one. I think I’ll be sharing this one with my Dad sometime soon. Thanks for posting it, Bro. Alan

  3. Isaiah says:

MacArthur hits it on the nail indeed! Good vid, Alan. Thanks for posting it.

  4. Thanks for this, I did a class on this at my church and one lady nearly took out her boxing gloves and wanted to charge the pulpit. I told her that the verse was taken waaaay out of context and that we actually can judge! I will post and link this to my site

Where in the Bible does it say we can judge??????That scripture is NOT taken out of context!!! we can’t judge people!! would Jesus judge someone??? NO! did Jesus judge the lady at the well???? NO then why do you say it is ok to judge people why does everyone think it is ok to judge then???

    dear alan
there is nothing wrong with being open and accountable but some posters seem to hold j.macarthur in high esteem, the same way that some members of the body of CHRIST hold some leaders of the charismatic church.there is nothing wrong with honour where honour is due but where do you distinguish whos honourable.i hold benny hinn, rodney howard brown ,john arnott in high esteem as well as r.c.sproul,chuck missler and various other christian leaders and teachers.does this mean if i hold a particular view or stance in what i believe ,then if some people do not agree with me then thy are false teachers and prophets.as i have said before we believe that the bible is the word ofGOD and i believe i can do what HE says i can do.j macarthur is an honourable man of GOD however i have heard of him attacking other christians who might disagree with him.are we all perfect NO but again it seems that its an age old problem of doctrine.please read about j knox, wessley, whitfield spurgeon who all had to change there doctrine.im not criticising but do we all agree on the foundational teachings of the bible or has it become the other helper JESUS spoke about.dont get me wrong here im not putting down the WORD OF GOD its our instruction manual im just trying to get a handle on why there has to be so much division and arguing.how are we saved, how do weget saved, what did JESUS tell us to do,argue about doctrine or reach the lost.
p.s. when we see conversions we let the people decide in our small town which church they want to go to.the presbyterians, anglican and pentecostal ministers work together leaving there differences at the door.what does the bible say about brothers being in harmony and what happens when we get unity.
    keep on trucking alan
    yours again in CHRIST

  6. Alan Higgins says:

You asked ‘where do you distinguish who’s honorable?’

My answer is i check out what a persons says and line it up with scripture like the Bereans( Acts 17:11)

Yes we are to reach the lost but we are also told to contend (defend) the faith. The truth will divide and will not unite. I have not personally heard John Macarthur attack other christians but I have heard him defend the faith

If TD Jakes says something contrary to scripture – REJECT IT

If Benny Hinn says something contrary to scripture – REJECT IT

If Paula White says something contrary to scripture – REJECT IT

If Creflo Dollar says something contrary to scripture – REJECT IT

If John Macarthur says something contrary to scripture – REJECT IT

If R C Sproul says something contrary to scripture – REJECT IT

If I say something contrary to scripture – REJECT IT

John MacArthur is not “attacking other Christians. He is exposing the heretical teachings of self appointed leaders, preachers and teachers. He is doing this to protect us from the terrible harm inflicted by false teachings.I was once in a cult, and I can assure you that heresy can leave spiritual damage and scars for the rest of your life. Some of the people who he has exposed are not Christians at all. They are charlatans, wolves in sheeps clothing, out to devour the flock. They decieve Christians and take their money. We as believers tend to be too trusting, and a bit naive.Conmen take advantage of that,to exalt themselves and become multi millionaires. MacArthur is not always right, but I truly believe his heart is in the right place. He is on our side,Christians.I have great respect for him.

    Thanks for this blog.
Full of excellent teaching on deception. Especially in regard to Mr Bentley and Co.

    God Bless.

  9. Alan Higgins says:

123 Please read john 7:24. We are allowed to judge with righteous judgment. By telling the woman at the well that she was committing adultery, Jesus made a judgment. When Peter told ananias and saphira that they had lied, that was a judgment. If I point out someones error using Gods word as the standard and not in a hypocritical way, then that is righteous judgment

  10. Julianna says:

In John 7:24 Jesus was not making a judgment. He was exercising a word of knowledge. See 1 Cor 12:8. She didn’t tell him she was – He had a word of knowledge by which she became a believer and brought many others to see him John 24:29-30.
It was the same spiritual gift working in Peter when he told Ananias and Saphira that they had lied. Not a judgement.

You must do as you say and rightly divide the Word of God.

  11. alex says:

Judging wrongly is like condemming…exposing the false teaching is not judging..Jesus often told pharisees and Sadducee of their false teaching..

Allan is not against the man per se but against unbiblical teachings…
