Marjoe Gortner, self proclaimed false faith healer

Peter Popoff Exposed

As I stated in my previous post, I have received quite a few comments about my take on people like Todd Bentley and Benny Hinn.

I would like to again list some of the common objections that people have with my view and see if we can see them in the videos above. Lets build up a little check list

  • People are getting ‘healed’ – CHECK
  • People are experiencing ‘God’ – CHECK
  • People are giving testimonies – CHECK
  • People are coming to the altar for ‘God’ – CHECK
  • Surely Satan is not going to glorify JESUS – CHECK. It looks like the people are above are glorifying Jesus
  • Jesus said by their fruit you will know them – CHECK. On the face of it, it looks like people are drawing closer to God
  • People are falling down under the power of God – CHECK

So if I go by the above statements and the common arguments that I hear, I should come to the conclusion that it must be from God right? But hold on….the videos above have proven that they are not from God because one was a self confessed fake and the other was found out, so what is the missing ingredient? How can we know? What exactly is the fruit that we should be looking for when Jesus says we will know them by their fruit? Mark Kielar touched on the answer in this video.

The missing ingredient is sound biblical doctrine. You will find false teachers will do and say many things contrary to scripture. This is the big give away but unfortunately, it is the very thing that most christians neglect to investigate. The Bible declares that the last days will be characterized by a GREAT deception. It will be so strong that if it were possible, even the elect would be deceived (Matthew 24:24). That gives you an idea on how strong this deception will be. The bible also makes it clear that many people who thought that they were christians will be surprised on that last day

Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Matthew 7:22-33)

So my advice is as it always is. Be a Berean (Acts 17:11) and check everything out with scripture before you swallow any of the spiritual junk food that comes through your television screen or from a pulpit and understand some basic rules of biblical interpretation.

Wow. That video on ‘Marjoe’… wow. Perhaps our current pack of wolves were inspired by what appears to be a how-to documentary. Geez.

It’s so crazy how blatantly false and business oriented these false teachers/ preachers are…to some of us. I even started noticing this one particular wolf (I can’t remember his name, but he screams all the time, like ‘Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawd!’ real crazy like)… he no longer just wears a suit… he’s wearing all black and a collar now, like he’s an official priest. And, he now has little 30 second ‘testimonial’ clips running before his program starts… but you know what — the ‘testimonial’ footage are obviously (I mean the hair, clothes and quality of the film) throwbacks, archival footage. They play before he comes on… and these are generic testimonials, too. You don’t even know who they’re talking about about, but he did it 🙂

    It’s not even funny.

    dear alan.
you really do seem to have a problem with todd.i am not here to try to get you to change your mind however you seem to be tarring and feathering everyone who does not hold the same views as yourself.having watched the video on marjoe i was appalled but to be frank i wouldnt through the baby out with the bathwater.yes there are con men and i agree.this has to be publisised but your oppening statement about todd bentley saying its not always about jesus is a wee bit harsh.i listened intently and nowere did i hear him say that its not about jesus.it seems that to me he is quite correct,in this country the majority of people my age from a protestant bachground where sent to sunday school and heard all about jesus.are they all going to come to him believing,i wish and pray this would be the case.there seems to be a stumbling block here in this country (not about YESHUA) but the supernatural.as you obviously are aware this causes devision between those who believe in a supernatural GOD and those who seem to attack anyone who mentions the word supernatural.my testimony is supernatural from beginning to present date,i have heard the audible voice of GOD in a pub telling me (when i was seriously considering suicide for the second tme) to come to JESUS.i went half drunk home to my mother who took me to a gospel mission and there i got saved.i received the baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT with the biblical evidence of speaking in other tongues a few days later in my bedroom without having ever watched or ever having heard anyone saying that there were churches who believed that JESUS stii baptises with the HOLY SPIRIT.this frightened me and it took a few phone calls to find out if anyone else done this.i have received divine healing when i cut the tips of my fingers off at work.my wife received divine healing from m.e. after receiving prayer.i have seen angels.the doctors told my wife and i we could never have kids<1% chance.she had problems with her ovaries.our only option after all avenues were exhausted was adoption, however we told no-one but believed that GOD would answer our prayer, one night in church THE HOLY SPIRIT spoke through an elderly lady telling us that GOD had said she would be a fruitfull vine.my wife found out she was pregnant the next day.we have a wonderfull son joel born 25/5/08.im not trying to be argumentative and apologize if it seems so but GOD IS SUPERNATURAL.HE DOES SUPERNATURAL THINGS AND HE MOVES SUPERNATURALLY.
having heard what todd has said i can find no fault with his statement .
in conclusion i wish you every success in the website ,and sense that the question must be can GOD still move supernaturally as i have found out having found him
faithfull.does this mean im deceived as i agree with todd or has what JESUS has done in my life been the enemy.i know in
whom i have believed and this has not been in vain
yours in OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

A lot of people do not know about Jesus but they do not know the gospel. How do I know? Because I have heard and spoke to enough people to know and that includes christians. We make the mistake in thinking that because there are so many churches around that people automatically know what christianity is all about. If Todd says that he has been told that people already know about Jesus, we have to get people to believe in the angel, then I think I can come to the safe assumption that it is NOT all about Jesus but it is about Jesus and the angel too

Nigel, you have misunderstood me. So let me clarify things. I do believe in the supernatural and I do believe that God works supernaturally. That was not the point of this post. The whole point I was making is just because people have different experiences at a meeting does not mean that a person is from God and Marjoe was a prime example. Whenever I hear from people who defend Todd, they mostly point to the experiences. As we can see from this, the experiences does not necessarily validate if something is from God or not. That is why I keep stressing that we must look at a persons doctrine and measure it up to scripture. As i keep saying, scripture determines doctrine (or experiences) and not the other way around

  4. Julie says:

Wow, those videos are… I don’t even know what to call them. I’ve never been comfortable with that kind of preaching. I’ve never beleived it was sincere. But to flat out say you don’t believe in God after making tons of money manipulating people for years… Whoa. The degree some poeple go to is austounding to me. You are right, it is so easy to be deceived!

    alan.
i havent been in touch or posted for about a fortnight.my friends are just back and they have had a wonderfull time.i agree its not about experiences but you dont seem to be familiar with the northern irish protestant mindset.the gospel was preached and sung about regularly, however coming up to the silly season in northern ireland where the vast majority of protestant christians will be off marching with orange sashes on worshipping a dutch homosexual on a white horse ,when they should be worshipping the KING soon to be coming on another white horse as in rev. 19.this organisation is basically masonic with a few christian symbols thre in for good measure.we seem to agree on most things but this revival.only time will tell when the fruit is thoroughly inspected.please remember that every revival or move of GOD has always been met with criticism including calvinism.also please remember that martin luthers writings prompted and promoted hitlers holocost of the jewish people.luther was an anti semite and hated the jews.the hebridian revival was spoke against by free presbyterians.JESUS and john the baptist were both accused of having demons.
i dont mean to be rude as i enjoy this site and must applaud you for the work

  6. Alan Higgins says:

Thanks for your comments Nigel. To be honest, I do not class myself as a calvinist or lutheran. i am just a born again christain who loves the word of God, loves doctrine, love to interpret it correctly so that I am not hoodwinked by any Tom, Dock or Harry. Like you said, “only time will tell when the fruit is thoroughly inspected” even though I believe that time has already told but we will see. God bless you and thanks for visiting the site
