Witnessing to Moslems

Listen

If you witness to a Moslem, realize that he will almost certainly acknowledge his sins, but will trust in God to forgive him because he says that he is sorry, and won’t sin again. So, before you open up the Law, tell him the story about a criminal who has committed a very serious crime. He says, “Judge, I am guilty, but I’m sorry and I won’t do it again.” Make sure that the Moslem agrees that if the judge is good, he must punish the criminal. He would be a bad judge if he didn’t make sure justice was done. He cannot simply let him go. Then take the Moslem through the Law, and when he tries to justify himself by saying that he simply asks God to forgive him, remind him of the story you told him about the good judge, and point out that God is infinitely harsher. Then tell him the good news of the cross. There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.

The Salt of the Earth

Listen

Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.”( Matthew 5:13) Salt cleanses; it preserves; it brings out taste. If you want to cleanse a stain from a cup, use salt. If you want to preserve meat from rotting, use salt. If you want to bring out the flavor of food, use salt. It has many properties, but the one common denominator is that it must come into contact with something to do its work. It needs to be scattered out of the saltshaker. If we don’t shake ourselves into reaching the lost, God may shake us. Remember, He allowed Saul of Tarsus to scatter the early Church. We are told that they were “scattered abroad, and went everywhere preaching the word.”(Acts 8:4) There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.

Do you view it as just ‘making people Christians’ or do you view it as a rescue mission from the wrath of God?

Whoever is Fearful

Listen

When God spoke to Gideon regarding the size of his army, He said, “Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.'”(Judges 7:3) God wants those who have overcome fear by being dead to themselves. He wants soldiers that have been crucified with Christ. George Mueller said, “There was a day when I died, utterly died, died to George Mueller, his opinions, preferences, tastes, and will-died to the world, its approval or censure-died to the approval or blame even of my brethren and friends-and since then I have only to show myself approved to God.” The way to see if you are dead is to see how you react when God wants you to witness to an unsaved person. Are we dead to the whisperings of fear? There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.

A Lot of Praying

Listen

Sometimes we think that all God requires of us is that we pray for this world. Prayer is good, but God has chosen “The foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”(1 Corinthians 1:21) We are asked, “How will they hear without a preacher?”(Romans 10:14) Are you that vessel that has said to God, “Here I am Lord, send me”?(Isaiah 6:8 ) Are you prepared to come out of the prayer closet and obey the Great Commission? A. W. Tozer said, “Have you noticed how much praying for revival has been going on of late-and how little revival has resulted? I believe the problem is that we have been trying to substitute praying for obeying, and it simply will not work. To pray for revival while ignoring the plain precept laid down in Scripture is to waste a lot of words and get nothing for our trouble. Prayer will become effective when we stop using it as a substitute for obedience.” There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.

None That Seek After God

Listen

Do you know that the First Commandment demands that we love God with all of our hearts, minds, souls, and strength? When we tell the world what that Commandment requires, it shows them that they have fallen short of God’s standard. The Moral Law reveals that they don’t love God, even though He gave them life. The Bible says that there is none that seek after God, that they are unthankful and unholy, and are “children of disobedience.” The Law of God brings the knowledge of sin. It calls for our blood, and demands our death and damnation. When a sinful world understands that, they are ready for the Good News that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us.(Galatians 3:13)The Law makes the cross make sense. That’s why Jesus used it. That’s why Paul used it. Do the same. There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.

Be Exceedingly Glad

Listen

Determine to make it a lifestyle to regularly share your faith. It may be with an unsaved friend, a coworker, a family member, or a stranger. Remember, the key to motivation is not to be concerned about yourself, but to care about the unsaved person’s eternal fate. Even if you were beaten up, Jesus said to rejoice and be exceedingly glad because even the prophets before you were persecuted. Think of what a child does when he’s learning to walk. If he falls down, do you discourage him from trying again? No. You want him to grow up, so you encourage him to stand on his own feet, and to take more steps. Even if he gets a bruise, you don’t tell him to give up. That would be unthinkable. So, if you fall down and get bruised, stand up, dust yourself off, and take another step of faith. There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.
