This is part of a Word Pictures clip that shows how missionaries went to a remote village and preached the Word in season and out of season. This video shows the results of TRUE evangelism.

This is a topic that most Christians do not like to talk about but the bible seems to talk about it quite a bit. Here are just a few examples:

Romans 1:18
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness

John 3:36
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Romans 2:5
But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

Romans 2:8
but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath,

Romans 3:5
But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust who inflicts wrath? (I speak as a man.)

Ephesians 5:6
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Colossians 3:6
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,

1 Thessalonians 1:10
and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Revelation 6:16-17
and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

Revelation 19:15
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

So the question is should we mention the wrath of God more? Now I am not advocating that we preach “WRATH, WRATH, WRATH!!” as that would give people a distorted view of God but at the same time, it is equally distorted to preach God as “LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!” There is a tendency to preach so much ‘love’ that we ignore the fact that there are consequences to our sin, namely the wrath of God, at the end of the day if we do not repent and put our trust in Jesus.

Romans 5:8 says “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners (law breakers), Christ died for us.“

I always say that to fully appreciate the good news, you have to understand the bad news which is that we were all (and some are still) on death row, with the wrath of God hanging over us (John 3:36). But at the fullness of time, Christ, who was without sin, took off his Godly robe as it were and dressed himself in the likeness of sinful human flesh, to receive the punishment and the wrath of the Father for those who will put their trust in him alone for their salvation.

A just God must punish sin otherwise he would not be just. Many people see God as this ‘all loving ‘ and ‘all forgiving’ God. By doing this, they have made up a god to suit themself. This god has no sense of justice but just lets everyone off the hook. This is not the God of the bible.

Listen to this clip which will hopefully clarify my point.

Let us preach the whole counsel of God and not just the ‘nice’ parts that will not offend or that will tickle peoples ears. The bible does not shy away from talking about both the love and the wrath of God, so neither should we.

Below are two videos which talk about the wrath of God

Now the question is, now that you know that the wrath of God is coming on unbelievers, which includes your friends and family, who are you warning?

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4:17)
