As per the BBC, this is

…..a video of the murdered Pakistani minister, Shahbaz Bhatti, in which he talks about his own assassination.

Mr Bhatti, a Christian, who was shot dead in the capital, Islamabad, had been calling for the abolishment of Pakistan’s strict blasphemy laws.

The video, released by the group First Step Forum, is said to have been recorded four months ago.

I have nothing but respect for him and I believe he was buried today. When I think about our persecuted brothers and sisters, I am ashamed that sometimes, I can take it for granted that I can read my bible anywhere, I can go to church freely without fear of being killed, I can declare my love for Jesus without thinking that my house will be burned down. Lord forgive me!!

Please pray for Shahbaz’s family and friends at this difficuly time, especially those who have not come to faith in Christ, that his death may be a testimony… and lets not forget to pray for his enemies. I am also praying that through this, that somehow the gospel may be able to spread more.

TURKMENISTAN — Pastor Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison — Forum 18 News

On Oct. 21, Pastor Ilmurad Nurliev was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of large-scale swindling, according to Forum 18 News Service. Pastor Nurliev, who leads the Light to the World Pentecostal church in Mary, Turkmenistan, was arrested two months ago after being accused of swindling money from several people in his congregation. Pastor Nurliev’s wife and many church members have insisted that the charges were fabricated to punish the pastor for his work with the unregistered church. The court also ruled that Nurliev be treated for a drug addiction while in prison. Believers vigorously deny that Pastor Nurliev is a drug addict in need of treatment but stress that he is diabetic. Pastor Nurliev’s wife and congregation are very concerned about his health. Pray that God will protect him and that he will receive proper treatment for his diabetes. Also pray that Pastor Nurliev’s family and church members will be strengthened during this time, and pray that his sentence might be reduced.

Learn how to use these two Commandments to show sinners their need of God’s mercy. See how using God’s holy Law to confront people about these “harmless” activities help them see sin in its true light.

CHINA — Police Interrogate Christian Attorney — China Aid AssociationOn May 31, Christian human rights attorney Li Heping was arrested in Beijing and taken to Beipingfang Village Police Station for interrogation, according to China Aid Association. Li Heping, who in the past has been under heavy police surveillance, was arrested as he left the home of fellow attorney Tang Jitian. Police took Li Heping to the police station for interrogation and released him later that night. The police claim they arrested Li Heping on suspicion of burglary, but their intentions were clearly to gain information on Tang Jitian’s whereabouts. On April 12, the government revoked the lawyer’s licenses of Tang Jitian and his friend Liu Wei, supposedly for causing a disturbance in the courtroom. The arrest and interrogation of Li Heping on “suspicion of burglary” is further evidence of how the Chinese government intimidates human rights attorneys. Pray that God will protect and encourage Li Heping and Tang Jitian. Praise God for the faithfulness of believers in China who continue to live out their faith in the midst of persecution.Revelation 2:9–11

TURKEY — Update: Believers Accused of “Insulting Turkishness” — Compass Direct News

On May 25, Turkish Christians Hakan Tastan and Turan Topal appeared in court for their 11th hearing on charges of “insulting Turkishness” by allegedly trying to convert others to Christianity, according to Compass Direct News. The hearing lasted only a few minutes. Despite the lack of evidence against the men, the Silivri Criminal Court set another hearing for Oct. 14. Prosecutors have yet to present any concrete evidence for the charges, and Hakan and Turan hope the trial concludes by the end of the year. “From the beginning, the charges against us have been filled with contradictions,” Turan said. “But we are entirely innocent of all these charges, so of course we expect a complete acquittal.” Thank the Lord for the bold faith of these two believers. Pray that God will be their strength and guide and that the charges against them will be dropped.2 Thessalonians 2:15–17

It came to pass that a group existed who called themselves fishermen. There
were many fishes in the water all around them and week after week, month
after month, the fisherman met in meetings and talked about their call to
go fishing.

Continually they searched for new and better methods of fishing and for new
and better definitions of fishing. They sponsored costly nation-wide and
world-wide congresses to discuss fishing, promote fishing, and hear about
all the ways of fishing such as the new fishing equipment, the fish calls,
and whether any new bait was discovered. These fishermen built large and beautiful buildings called Fishing Headquarters. The plea was that everyone
should be a fisherman and every fisherman should fish.

Some spent much study and travel to learn the history of fishing and to see
faraway places where the founding fathers did great fishing in centuries
past. They lauded the faithful fishermen of years before who handed down
the idea of fishing.

Many who felt the call to be fisherman responded. they were commissioned
and sent to fish. they engaged in all kinds of occupations, they built
power plants to pump water for fish and tractors to plow new waterways.
They made all kinds of equipment to travel here and there to look at fish
hatcheries. Some also said they wanted to be part of the fishing party but
they felt called to just furnish fishing equipment. The only problem was
while they were building all sorts of fishing equipment and while all of
this was going on………….NOBODY DID ANY FISHING

If Christ were to return to this Earth today in physical form, would He
find us fishing, in obedience to Him, or would he find us organizing,
talking about fishing, and making plans to be the best Fishing Headquarters
anywhere? Would ehe find us waiting for the fish to jump into the boat and have a come and see attitutude?

Jesus came to seek and save those that are lost. (Luke 19:10) The big question is are you doing the same? Are you fishing?

“Come, follow me” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19)

Let us stop waiting for the fish to jump into the boat but let us GO OUT and be fishers of men
